I have a very long slide show (large file size) and am worried that loading
and running this huge file will melt the laptop.

Right now, I have it broken into sections, to make it easier to work with
(lots and lots and lots of photos). Can I maybe link these shows together
and have them play sequentially?

I need to add that I've joined several pieces of music that will play the
length of the show (about 35 minutes). will that be a problem if linking
(as above) is an option.

Thanks.

Diana,
Don't know about the music as I have not tried that before. But for the
linking part have a look here for some excellent material :

Diana;

Give us some file sizes so we might have a better idea of what your working with. Linking the shows together will not allow the music to span with the links. I have done a similar project which runs just fine on my old laptop.

Michael, I didn't bother to give you the files sizes (100+ meg) because I needed the music to continue.
However, having said that, I ended up breaking up the music and telling it to start on a particular slide, and had the previous music play only for a certain number of slides and that worked. I compressed all photos within powerpoint (nice little feature, actually) and with all 230 slides with photos (and shadows applied in other graphic software), the entire file was 150 meg which was small compared to where it started.

Thanks for offering to help.
