Yup, can do. You use the Spin animation, but the question is this: what are
you spinning? If you take a rectangle and spin it, it will simply flip
around like a baton, which is not what you want. But imagine if half of that
rectangle were invisible--the visible half would appear to be swinging like
a pendulum, not flipping like a baton.

And because animations can be applied to groups, your mission is clear:
Create a group of objects that are half-visible and half not. Animate the
entire thing to spin.

You can probably take it from there, but holler if not...

Thanks for the replies.
However, I need to clarify a bit more! I have drawn a telehandler forklift
for a lesson I am conducting and would like the boom to be able to raise up
and down, hence the pivot. It can extend and retract easy enough, just not up
or down.
Any help is much appreciated.

PS. I have limited technical skils!!!!!

"Cut "the object you want to swing.Go to edit menu.Choose Paste Special.Paste
it and then open the picture toolbar.Open the crop tool(just move along the
toolbar until the little box indicates you're hovering over the crop
tool).Place the crop tool corners(you'll see what I mean when you use it).Now
drag the corner so that the frame for the object looks much bigger. Now try
the spin animation. If the spin is not what you want adjust the size with the
cropping tool.If the spin is not the required angle adjust it in the Custom
animation window.Remember to click tab straightaway if you change the angle
or it reverts to 360 degrees.

O.K. I have got the crop tool to high light and I can now get the boom to
raise up! Next Q.
How do I get the custom degree to stay at 30 degrees?
