I already run a software firewall that I do not want
undone.

How can I install XP's SP2 without running its firewall?

John;
If your firewall is detected the Windows firewall will be off.
If not simply turn off the Windows firewall:

SP2 has options to disable the firewall protection. If
you already have another firewall installed, I would
recommend keep it enabled and disable the one that came
with SP2. It's pretty lame anyway.
