I recently had Frontpage 2003 installed at work. Being as I will be required
to work at home also, I want to also install it at home. The EULA says:

GRANT OF LICENSE. Microsoft grants you the following rights provided that
you comply with all terms and conditions of this EULA:
1.1 Installation and use. You may:
(a) install and use a copy of the Software on one personal computer or
other device; and
(b) install an additional copy of the Software on a second, portable device
for the exclusive use of the primary user of the first copy of the Software.

My home computer is not a lap top (portable device?). Can I still install a
copy at home for work, or does the activation know that it is not a laptop
and screw up everything. It's kinda annoying this isn't clearly explained.
If I am limited to a laptop, why is this? I don't see the problem with
owning a version of the software and being abel to use it at work AND home
since in this day and age the lines are def blurring...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The license is only good on two computers if one is a laptop. Furthermore,
only the primary user of the first machine may use the copy on the laptop.

i kinda doubt that it will know if your second install is a laptop or not...if you wanna be legally safe put your desktop on your lap when you install it.

You've answered your own question - you can't install it on two desktop
systems. Only on a desktop system and on a lap top that will only be used
by yourself, and not concurrently with the desktop installation.

The limit is there because the EULA says it is. I thought the mention of
"portable device" is perfectly clear actually.

Speaking of installing on a home pc and laptop. I was wondering what
other developers do as far as desktop vs. laptop? Do most people only
use FP on a laptop or on a desktop? I would think that it was better
to have it on your laptop that way you could show potential clients
your work or say a sample site for them.

What you say?
