I have a machine that has Office 2000 on it. I need to use FrontPage 2003
for some work I am doing.

Can I install FrontPage 2003 on a machine that is running Office 2000 or do
I need to have Office at the 2003 level first before installing and using
FrontPage 2003?

You can install FP 203 with Office 2000 but you have ot do it very
carefully. Just make sure you don't install anything that's actually shared
between office apps. I would avoid the converters and other items and stick
with just the minimal FP product node on a custom install. Otherwise, the
shrared offfice functionality gets installed and this will ruin the shared
functionality of the Office 2000 apps.

Hope this helps,

Also the machine needs to be a Windows 2000 or Windows XP machine.

Thank you for the advice and words of caution, I'll pass the information
along to those who take care of my machine.

I have the same setup.. Office 2000 & FP 2003..

The key is to install in the order that they came out..
B4 installing FP 2003 install SP3 and all the updates for office 2000 then
Install FP 2003 and update it with the office 2003 SP1... That should work
(it did for me)

BTW: I use XP Pro

No, you need Windows 2000 or higher. Office has nothing to do with it.
