Once I respond to an email in my in box - how can I have it show that it was
replied to - in the inbox?

The envelope icon changes in mine. It has an arrow over it.

You haven't told us your version of outlook or on what platform you are
running it.

That is exactly what I would like for it to do. It used to do that, but as
soon as I upgraded, it stoped. I have Office 2007 - I am not sure what
"Platform" refers to.

"Platform" refers to the operating system (i.e. WinXP, Vista, etc.). In the
column headers of your Inbox, do you see the little icon that looks like a
single page with the top right corner bent over? If not, you need to make
sure you can see it as that is the icon that gives you the indication you
are asking about. Right-click on any of the column headers, choose
"Customize Current View", click on "Fields" and then make sure "Icon" is
included in the "Show these fields in this order" box.

I also have 2007 - the field should be there by default. If not, follow
Tim's steps.

I hope this helps you at least a little bit!
