I have a spreadsheet containing several charts and in the title of each chart
is a value. Sometimes I miss changing the value in a title from month to
month and it would be helpful to be able to reference a single cell for this
value.

Select the chart title, type an equal sign and click the cell, press enter
(you can also type equal sign and the sheet name and cell name like
=Sheet1!$G$1 and then press enter but it is easier if you can select the
cell with the mouse since excel will put in the name for you)
