3 months ago I took my computer in to my Tecko Store and asked them to put a
new and bigger drive in and to load WindowsXp on it
They dropped my original C drive to D, Added a larger drive to C and
reformatted the disk and loaded a New WinXP
2 days ago my computer wont boot up just stops and shows 4 symbols in Dos,
so I take my computer in, they opened up BIOS setting telling me some how my
computer was trying to load up from D drive where my old disk is, So they
changed the boot up to my bigger Drive in C.
I get home Boot up , which it does now, but funnily enough all my old files
and shortcuts from my last drive are on desktop, then I open Windows
explorer and my small drive is now at C and my new Big drive D,,,,,,,
Confused........Thanks for any help Bob

Take it back to the shop. Hopefully you paid with a credit card and can
contest the charges, if necessary.

Philo I tried changing it to boot from the other drive (D my new drive, with
the new WinXP) but all I get is 4 funny symbols in Dos , something like a
"Y8Y8" so I have to change the boot back to my old drive with the old
windows to get it up and running..........Thanks Bob

You need to set the bios to boot from your new drive
and leave it there...
as a matter of fact, you should remove your second drive entirely from the
boot options

Check the data cable,
it looks like the drive is not being detected properly.

Sorry, I'm confused too. Please try explaining the problem again,
being much more explicit as to what's happening.
