Can the Guest account login to shares it isn't allowed to?

Stupid question. I have set up the Guest account with access to a single
share on the server. When I authenticate as guest I then get a choice of
all the other shares on the server. If I try to acces them I get the share
mounted, but with nothing in it. Its blank.
Which is good. Except I wasn't sure if this behaviour is normal. I am
logging in from a Unix box via SAMBA.

This is fairly normal behavior. I can be changed by hiding
shares or modifying share permissions.

Be careful with the guest account. I can't comment on your situation but
normally you would get an access denied or other such message when trying to
access a share you do not have any permissions to from another Windows box. You
may want to try disabling the guest account and setting up the share for null
access as another option as described below. --- Steve
