Some of my fields do not have "can grow" and "can shrink" properties. I
can't find any similarity of data type for when the properties are available
ofr not. Are these properties only available only available to certain data
types?

CanGrow and CanShrink are not properties of (Table) Fields. If you referred
to the Controls on Forms / Reports then only some Controls, e.g. TextBoxes,
have CanGrow / CanShrink property ...

Note that CanGrow and CanShrink of Controls on Form do NOT apply when
viewing the Form on screen. These only apply when the Form is printed (but
printing Form is not recommended).
