I slipstreamed SP2 to my original XP copy (retail) a few years ago using
Autostreamer (slipstreaming details are available on my website at this

worked fine for me. In fact i still use the slipstream CD if i need to
re-install XP. This isn't very often now because i image the drive and
restore from an image.
