Hello,

I clean installed XP on disk 0 which was C:\ . Then I clean installed XP on
disk 1 (D:\). Each drive having own IDE. Then I removed disk1 and formatted
C:\ and re-installed XP on it. I was hoping that I could now dual boot from
both drives but I can't ??

I have tried to add a path to disk1 in the boot.ini of C:\ but the choice of
O/S doesn't come up and when it boots it resets boot.ini back to the original.

I think I have erred somewhere and need a bit of advice.
TIA.

I don't understand why you did what you did. If you install XP on two
different drives where one installation can see the other at the time of the
install of the second OS, then XP sets up the dual boot automatically.

What are you trying to accomplish?

when you formatted "C" it wiped out the dual boot.
you need to edit the boot menu on "C" to restore it.
