My motherboard has 2 LAN ports, I use one for my cable modem but don't use
the other one and I just installed a bluetooth keyboard and for some reason
I now have a bluetooth network icon on my taskbar. I opened the network
dialog window and for each one I wasn't going to use I unchecked the box
that says to display the icon on the taskbar but the icons still appear
there. I have rebooted and that doesn't help, I have rechecked properties
to make sure the box to display the icon on taskbar is still unchecked and
they are.

How do I get rid of these 2 network icons I am not using?? they bug the hell
out of me..........lol

Thanks in advance

Hi,

I don't know how to solve that, your problem is my problem as well.

Meantime, if you're not using those cards, then disable them and the icons
will disappear.

Elias

1. Right click on the first taskbar icon in question. which will open
network connections.
2. In network connections, right click on the connection icon in question.
3. Select properties, and when the properties screen opens, uncheck both
icon notification boxes and ok out.
4. Repeat for the second taskbar icon.

Why not just "Always Hide" the notification in the taskbar? I do that
for an unused Lan connection.

Open Network Connections, right-click the unused card, click "Disable"
and you won't see it in the tray.

I use a double-height task bar and prefer not to hide notifications so
individual preferences play a role here too.

Sorry, that totally went right past me. Not the first time with tunnel
vision, and probably not the last.
