I have no idea where to find pocket powerpoint. Windows ce converts ppt to a
ppv format, but cannot view them on my pocket pc. Is it available for
download somewhere ?

This is a link to a google search i already did and doesn't give me any more
information. Microsoft Pocket powerpoint, exell etc are mentioned on
different sites except on the Microsoft website itself it seems. Only one
download is related to that, a Plus pack for an earlier version of windows ce.
Through google there's reference to a number of softwares that allow editing
and that use a different file format (not ppv) but something else.
So still merely looking at a simple viewer for the pp that are by default
converted to ppv format... nothing more nothing less... because unfortunately
no pocket powerpoint came with my pc.

To the best of my knowledge microsoft pocket powerpoint was
withdrawn/discontinued many years ago.

So your best bet is to look for a third party piece of software for using
your powerpoint files on a pocket pc

Toby, what version of CE are you using. I am using CE 5.0 and there is a
File Viewer that can be included with the CE image (I added it to mine) for
viewing PowerPoint files. It opens regular PowerPoint files so you don't
have to convert them. An earlier version of Pocket PowerPoint required a
conversion of the ppt/pps file during transfer with ActiveSync. I don't
know where you could get a version of that. There is a company named
Westtek that provides the PowerPoint File Viewer for Windows CE and they
also have a retail version you can buy for about $9. Do you have some
presentations in the ppv format you want to play or does your CE device
require a ppv extension?

You might want to ask in one of the PocketPC forums, then, if nobody pops in
here with recommendations. Based on that first link on the Google search
(http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/wlg/3300), I get the impression that MS
doesn't make a PPT reader for PocketPC.
