How can I get folders in "My Picturers" to show four pictures?

When I open up, "My Picturers" some of the folders show four small copies of
the photographs in the folder on the folder while other folders just show a
boring yellow colour. I have worked out how to introduce just one photograph
onto the boring yellow folder face but can not work out how to make these
folders accept the four copies of the photographs in the actual folder. I
have no idea how I produced these different folders but could anyone please
tell me how I can get them all to show the four copies of photographs within
the particular folder.

=============================
You can make any .jpg image display
as a single image on a folder by renaming
the .jpg to : Folder.jpg.

The other options can be accessed by
right clicking a folder and go to...
Properties / Customize tab

Adding to John's advice.

After you get to Properties>Custom, select "picture" or "photo album" from
the dropdown list.

Thumbnails must be the folder view.

Then go to Tools>Folder Options>View.

Checkmark "apply to all folders"

I just took a number of shots with my Canon EOS 300D and then downloaded them to the computer and as soon as I opened the folder from the camera it adopted the four picturers to a folder display and of course as soon as I oved it to the folder that I keep my photographs in it carried that four picturers dispaly with it.

I have no idea how I got in the position of only showing blank yellow
folders that I can then only manage to get a one picture dispay on.
Its just past midnight in England so I will now give it a rest.

Go to the folder icon.
Right click and select properties.
Select the Customize tab
In the center section: Folder Pictures, click on Restore Default.
Click on Apply at the bottom.
Click OK

I believe it will display the four most recent (date modified) imnages.

Sorry but I have tried that and my current state of mind is to just have one
photograph showing. I have to say that I'm not impressed with Windows who
appear to rely upon a lack of alternatives to the consumer.

It will display 4 images if you are in Thumbnail View.

I have tried for a long time to have the pictures show on the folder in
thumbnail view. The only time I am able to do so is with Adobe Photoshop
saving the jpg as a psd file. Then the picture shows up on the folder. I
also have had an issue for a couple of years with picture and fax viewer
which seems to link to the right click preview of a jpg which will not work
for me when the "open with" picture and fax viewer selected. Could be some
of my issues with this.
Good luck
