Can FP extensions be left "enable" when switching to EW of DW?

Can I leave the FrontPage extensions "enable" on my websites when I move on
to Expression Web or Dreamweaver. - I'm looking at both to see which one
has the best tutorials.

Yes, but I would recommend that you start to wean yourself away from the
extensions. MS is no longer actively maintaining FPSE so no further
enhancement will be made.

I disagree. A version of the FrontPage Server Extensions (FPSE) for IIS7 RC0
were recently released:
http://blogs.iis.net/bills/archive/2...-released.aspx
Granted there is no new functionality, but it does mean that the FPSE will
be around for quite a while.
