Can I force installation of ActiveX component with expired certificate?

A site that I go to has a voicechat function that installs an
ActiveX component. But the install aborts. In looking at the log
files, it appears that the error involves a signature or
certificate. And indeed, the certificate on at least one of the
downloaded files expired in December.

Sometimes when there's a certificate problem, Windows XP gives me
the opportunity to install anyway, but that option doesn't pop up in
this case. So, I'm looking for a way to get the component to go
ahead and install, either by bypassing the signature check, or some
other way. I trust this site, so that's not an issue.

Any suggestions?

CtrlPanel>InternetOptions>Security

add site to Trusted Zone & set that zone to load all ActiveX.

I hope u really really trust that site- 4 me, only banks & sites I've
been on >3yrs r in that zone. U might want to install
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html as I have.

Any advice is my attempt to contribute more than I have received but I can only assure you that it works on my PC. GOOD LUCK.
