Anyone know if the HOTFIX mentioned in the MicroSoft
Knowledge Base description (below) is available. If so,
where can I get it, or the update that contains it?

Thanks, in advance.
Dana

Wireless Client Cannot Reconnect to a Wireless Access
Point
View products that this article applies to.
SYMPTOMS
On a Microsoft Windows XP-based computer, you
successfully make a wireless network connection to your
network. However, you lose the connection and you cannot
reconnect to the network unless you do one of the
following:
Restart your computer.
Eject and then re-insert the network card.
Disable and then re-enable the network card.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the wireless access point
receives a connection request while the access point is
trying to re-authenticate the wireless client for the
same wireless network card. This later reconnection
request is interpreted as a network attack on the access
point. When this event occurs, the access point rejects
the connection from the wireless client.
RESOLUTION
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but
it is only intended to correct the problem that is
described in this article. Only apply it to systems that
are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may
receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not
severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends
that you wait for the next Windows XP service pack that
contains this hotfix

It says how to get it in that article further down. You have to contact
Microsoft support for it. They will waive the fee if that is the only
issue you mention in the call.

Have you ever tried to access a HOTFIX through Microsoft?
It's pretty intimidating!!!! You'd think they'd have a
link to the HOTFIX, but instead you have to work your way
through a complex maze that ends up asking for your credit
card number. Frustrating!!!!

Many have done it. Just say that you want this one hotfix because you
have the problem. Don't mention anything else and they will waive the
fee. It's the only way.
