I have tried to find them by using the "find unread mail" option in outlook
and I have opened each and every individual folder in outlook as well as
every individual folder in all of my document files? What else can I do?
Your suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Providing more information would help:

1) What version of Outlook are you using?
2) What indicates you have unread mail?
3) Are you filtering the view you have of email (ie: by 7 days, etc.)?
4) What type of email account do you have (meaning POP3, Exchange, etc.)?
