I'm running winxp sp2 and need to find all folders that have shares put on
them. by just looking at windows explorer its impossible to see all the
possibilities and right now I cant look at the computer from the network to
see what's been shared.

Use the MMConsole and check the "Shared Folders" category.
Right Click My Computer and then Left Click Manage.

Here is another method: Start a Command Prompt, then type
this command:
net share {Enter}
