After i obtain all the information from control panel, I am

that will allow me to connect other computers on my system
without the CD "Disk". Any help would be appreciated...

Well, no CD means you can't install the necessary files.
What that means is you'll need to purchase Windows XP.

Ask your friend for the CD, sooner or later you will need it.
Otherwise you may have to buy Windows XP Pro.

On the off chance, see if this applies:

If you bought it it means you bought the CD. Otherwise your friend is still
using XP prof and your using it means you are inviolation of the EULA.
