Hello at Microsoft I have been trying for the three hours to find the demote
button in powerpoint. If you could help it would be appreciated, so I can get
on with my lessons.

Go to the Tools menu and choose Customize. On the Options tab, check the
first checkmark (Show standard and formatting toolbars on two rows). I'll
bet you'll see it now.
