Can I find closed files in Outlook 2003?

Hi,

I know there are similar questions.

I had folders in my 'Folder List' that had the same name and were similar,
but not identical in content. I closed some and now can't find them. Is it
possible to get them back and then merge the similar folders to minimise
space being used and avoid duplication of emails etc?

Many thanks,

C C

You can close Personal Folders, that are visible, but not the default msg
store and you can delete sub folders that you created in the Personal
Folder, but which did you do?

I closed folders both Personal and Archive that were visible on the Folder
list.

Then within OL, File>Open>Data File.......browse to the file(s)
You can keep the data files open within OL
To merge you simply copy data from one to which ever you wish

I'm not sure from the file titles whaich are in fact on my folder list and
which are not - at the moment there are archive, Outlook, Outlook backup,
OutlookHotmail-00000003 backup, OutlookHotmail (1)-00000005 and
OutlookHotmail (1)-00000005 backup.

Merging as you describe sounds quite tedious - having to go through every
bit of data in each file to check whether its already there or not. Is there
a simpler way?

Your backup files are backups of the respected named/numbered data files
Though the numbering seems a bit bizare, how were these backups created?
The archive.pst is the default archive file
Depending on your archive settings, in the respected folders, this file
should not contain any duplicates.
