I'm using Access 2002 a lot more lately and have been dismayed by the fact
that there are only a few templates available on the Microsoft site. The
bulk of them are for 2003. Is there another source for the 2002 format
templates?

Actually, a2002, and a2003 share the same format!

Those templates should work just fine.

Give them a try. And, of course the a2000 ones should also work just fine.

I tried to download the 2003 format template and got an error message
informing me that Access 2003 was not found on my computer. I didn't see an
offered alternative. for the download. Apparently backward compatibility is
honored, but forward compatibility is not.

You should see a download button. The text RIGHT IN THE CENTER of screen
is

I just tried a2002....

<quote>

To download the template manually:

Click Download Now below.
In the File Download dialog box, click Save.
Select the folder where you want to save the compressed file (.CAB), and
then click Save.
Open the folder where you saved the compressed file, and then

double-click the file.

It works fine for me when I use a2002. You get a cab file...just double
click on it...and then when it opens..drag out the mdb file...

So, follow the on-screen instructions...if you scroll down, there is
information on how to download manually as above.
