If I have a 4 minute audio file and I only want it to play for 10 slides, can
I fade the track out after the 10 slides? I do not want the track to just
stop. Is this possible?

PowerPoint just plays what you give it. However, if you know how long you want
the track to be, you can use an audio editor like Audacity and shorten the music
and add a fade to the end.
