How can I expand the Style box on the Formatting toolbar?

I'm editing a document in with a lot of styles, including some with names
that are quite long. Is there any way to expand the size of the style box,
so that the style name is fully visible?

Thanks.

Right-click the toolbar and choose Customize. Click on the Style box to
select it. Hover the mouse pointer over the right edge of the style box
until you see a resizing cursor; then drag to the right until the style box
is the desired width. Then click Close in the Customize dialog box.

I just tried this using Word 2010 and it does not work. No resizing cursor. I REALLY need to be able to see the full style name. Is there any thing that will work in Word 2010? I can't believe MS would disable such a useful function (althougth they do seem to delight in moving things around.)
