Never thought of it when I bought it, but I've been playing with some
image stitching software and got to thinking about printing out some of
the results to see how they'd look. The trouble is, IF it can, do you
need to use "roll" paper? How does it load?

Been googling a bit on this, somewhere I read that you can print to a
max of 44" long by 8.? wide, so would you pre-cut the paper?

Anyone here tried this?

TIA

You can print as standard 210 X 594mm, not sure abount 44" you would have
to cut to size from an 8" roll. I have never tried longer than 594mm,
interesting thought.

Yes you can print up to 44 inches. Just set a custom form size to the length
you want. I print panoramas by taping multiple sheets of photo paper
together as I haven't found rolls or long sheets. I have one of Niagara
falls which is four pictures stitched together I took from the hotel room.
Shows from up stream to downstream. If you have roll paper you could make a
rack to hold it, just make it free turning.

If you RTFM, you should find the R300 supports use of Epson Panoramic paper
S041145 which is 8.3" x 23.4" and supports a maximum printable size to 44"
long. Now the 44" long has been mentioned with many printers in the past
including my old 1270 which I could set a custom paper size up to 12*",
iirc. One caveat, you couldn't do this printing in Photoshop, which for
some reason enforced a 44" max length. Use the Epson roll paper of choice
and cut to the length desired as I don't believe the R300 supports printing
directly off roll paper as other models do.

thanks - I would have read TFM but it's packed away whats known as
the-black-hole-where-things-vanish in my house..

I found the 8.3" roll paper on Epsons site, but the R300 does not come
up as a printer that handles this paper, I'll have another boo on their
site and see if I can find an online or pdf manual for it tho..

I am curious though, as to why it's 8.3" as opposed to 8.5"? not that it
makes any difference, just curious..

Finding a supplier for the paper up here is another story though, so
I'll check some online sources..

One last thing, what printing program would one use? I usually use the
one that came bundled with the printer, but IIRC one can only pick
standard paper sizes with it..

should have been 128"

My guess is a paper handling issue of some sort, note the panoramic paper
is the same 8.3" wide.

I've always used Qimage for my prints, but was also able to do 128" long
prints from PSP 7 or 8. Since I never use the bundled software I can't help
there. But you should be able to define a custom paper size in the printer
driver itself of any length at least up to 44" if not to the 128" limit
I've mentioned.
