After upgrading to Win-XP Pro, "Emperor for Dune" can no longer work!

Can "Emperor: Battle for Dune" work under Win-XP Pro sp1?

I have checked EA's web site but I couldn't find anything about
"Win-XP + Emperor for Dune".

Thanks in advance.

According to the EA support site, the game works under XP. There is an
issue with Norton Antivirus on XP and EBfD

It certainly does. Did you "upgrade" your existing Windows installation
with Windows XP? If that's the case Emperor may well need to be reinstalled
as well.

First of all i must tell u that EBFD is the one of the
best games ever, i play it all day long on my XP PRO!!!
i also have xp and it works perfect, if u want to solve
ur problem so try to do a windows update, with SP1 and
all the other updates, go to EA support, register ur game
and ask Ea for help, also go to microsoft to help, if u
bought a wrong version of xp, or any other case

Thank you, Paul. I appreciate your help.

Yes, I did my Win-XP pro installation by upgrading my existing Win-98SE.
And I did re-install "EMPEROR".

Since my Emperor could not be started that I just want be sure that if
Emperor can work under Win-XP.
Thank you for the confirmation.

Just as Buzz said, NAV does cause my problem, stop EMPEROR from running.
(In my case, that is NAV 2003 which comes with NIS 2003.)
PS: It is OK under Win-98SE.
NAV 2003 and EMPEROR can coexist under Win-98 SE.

Now, new problem comes!
How to run EMPEROR without "completely removing the NAV first" under Win-XP
pro?

Hi, Roman,
Thank you.

EBFD sure is a dam good game.
Thank you for the "confirmation" that EBFD is compatible
with Win-XP pro.

Yes, I do have "WRONG" version, just as everyone does! :>
Nowadays, we all need to "UPDATE" software all the time
to make it RIGHT, except those who do not "buy" software.

BTW, the EMPEROR is no longer on the EA's "product list",
is it?
How come?

Thanks, Buzz,
I appreciate.

Actually, I did find out these informations by myself a few days ago.
(not anything).
But I just did not notice that its "XP+NAV" on that web page...
Since in Win-98, my NAV 2003 is fine with my EMPEROR.
In Win-XP Pro, I have tried to kill that task and re-start the game but
the problem remain the same.
So, I thought that NAV had nothing to do with my problem.
And EA does not states which version the NAV is about about and
the EMPEROR looks like no longer supported by EA!
(The EMPEROR is not on their product list, isn't it?)
So, I thought that nothing about the "EMPEROR + XP" is on the EA's
web-page.

Since you told me that "XP Pro is OK with Emperor", that make me
believe the "EMPEROR" and have willing to try again!

So, I removed NAV 2003 completely and tried again.
But, it did not work at the beginning!
And then, I re-started the EMPEROR again, it worked!
After a lot of trying. I found that I need to start the game twice at least
in order to play the game!
(How come?)

So, I re-install a complete "New XP pro" for re-testing.
The problem stays the same, I still need to start twice (at least) in order
to play the game!
