Can email "subject" line add unique auto-generated number?

If each email had a specific auto-generated number tag attached (like many
scanner softwares do), the emails with duplicate "subject" (such as Joe Smith
file) could be saved outside of Outlook without overwriting prior emails with
the same generic name.

You'd have to write some code, e.g. VBA, to achieve that.

You would need to use a 3rd party utility or VBA to create the identifier.
