Where can I download IE 6.0?

I am running Windows XP with IE 6.0. I suspect a problem with IE, so I need
to uninstall and reinstall....the problem is that Best Buy did not provide
Windows XP disks with this system, only some goofy restore CDs. Is there a
site where I can download IE?

Thanks.

IE6 is part and parcel of WinXP, Art. See
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=318378.

Note that if your problem is caused by hijackware, reinstalling IE won't
help: Hijackware infects Windows. What you experience using IE is merely a
symptom of the disease.

I have been to the www.microsoft.com/windows/ie site and don't see where I
can download IE. All I see is SP2 download for XP, which I already have.

I'm told by Tech Guy Support Forum that a solution to my Microsoft Visual
C++ Runtime Library error problem might be to uninstall and reinstall
IE.....but I don't know how to 1) uninstall it, or 2) where to find it to
download and reinstall it. Because of the restore CDs I have and Best Buy's
inability to provide online or telephone support for their VPR Matrix
computers, I am at a loss.

Thanks. I have been in communication with Tech Guy Forum and have run Hijack
This. The logfile was scrutinized and a couple of entries were
repaired/deleted. I am told that the Hijack This logfile is clean now, but
the problem persists of Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library error appearing
whenever I bring up IE or Outlook Express. What I am trying to do now is
clean IE out of the system and reinstall it.....but I am unsure of what to
do.

Thanks for your help.

To check for corrupted or missing files - click Start>Run and type in "sfc
/scannow" (no quotes) and be sure
to have your Windows XP disk handy. This will repair and re-register any
existing problems.

Also, be sure to run Ad-Aware and Spybot scans in SafeMode

or try this link

Make sure you don't have both the Microsoft VM and Sun Java enabled.

Post the complete error message, Art. From the info you've posted so far, I
don't think reinstalling IE or OE will solve the problem.

Can you post a link to your thread in Tech Guy Forum, please?
