how can I download to disc a folder from Outlook

Currently using Office 2003 and would like to transfer complete folders to
disc

's Computer Specifications

First thought that came to mind is export folder in Outlook to a new .PST
file. Close the .PST, close Outlook and then archive to removable media.
However to use the archived .PST you need read/write to the file if you plan
on using it later.

Second thought is maybe something 3rd party'ish from
http://www.slipstick.com/addins/housekeeping.asp.
