Anyone know if this can be distributed with my app (including its
dependencies) along with "msimsp.exe"? I'd like to prepare a certain patch
at the client site. Thanks.

I have never seen the gates of a law school! But, the norm is this. If an
item is not explicitly identified as a redistributable entity, it should not
be redistributed. At least the license agreement for platform sdk does not
seem to give you permission.

PS: Please don't send me direct emails, use the newsroom.

Hi Mark,

My name is Dennis Schmidt. Thank you for using the Microsoft Windows
Installer Newsgroups.

Individual tools from the Platform SDK cannot be redistributed
individually. You must download the SDK to obtain the tool.

I hope this helps! If you have additional questions on this topic, please

Thanks for the feedback. You're almost certainly correct but I need to
confirm it. Thanks anyway.
