I'm trying to set up my PP presentation so that it behaves similar to a
static website, but the default spacebar slide control kinda ruins it for me.
Is there a way for me to disable the control?

You can remove all mouse and keyboard control (except the ESC key) by
clicking "Slide Show", "Setup show" and setting it to "Browsed at a KIOSK".
Keep in mind that you will need to provide navigation buttons (or hidden
objects over desired links) in order to move around the presentation.
