It is called "E4C4F15C.wip" and is taking up
about 0.5Gb of disk space.
What is this file and can it be deleted?

Also there is a file I downloaded a while ago
called
"WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU", can I delete
this ?

And also the downloaded
"Office2003SP2-KB887616-FullFile-ENU"
Can I delete this one too?

Frank

Hello Frank,

I have no idea what the E4C4F15C.wip is, but those other two files are
Microsoft downloaded updates. One is for MS Office 2003 and the other for
Windows XP.

If you have already installed those updates, you can delete those two
installation files.

Alan

If you have installed those updates

Hi Frank,

If you installed the Windows & Office updates, you can delete the
installation files. As far as the WIP file, I would rename it, adding a
different extension ("E4C4F15C.wip.old"), wait a week and see if
anything complains. If not, delete it.

I just Googled the extension "WIP" and came up with this: "...Formerly known
as CyberScrub Professional Edition. This is a disk wiping tool. The .WIP
files are created during the wiping process and should be automatically
deleted at the end of the process. They generally contain random bits;
nothing useful at all. ....."

And just how small a hard drive is being used? One might wish to
consider getting a significantly larger hard drive or even a second
hard drive to install as a slave drive.

When a problem comes along.
You must WIP it.
Before the cream sits out too long.
You must WIP it.
When something's going wrong.
You must WIP it.

now hip it.
into shape.
shape it up.
get straight.
go forward.
move ahead.

try to detect it.
it's not too late.
to WIP it.
WIP it good.
