Can I delete or identify " Account Unknown" profiles?

The environment we have is a single local domain with 4 servers running W2K
AS w/TS and AD. Two of the servers are running Citrix MetaFrame XPa FR1. I
noticed this several weeks ago...

On our Citrix servers when I list User Profiles (under System Properties),
it takes a couple of minutes to show the list. I see 21 profiles listed as
"Account Unknown". I'm leery to just go ahead and delete them. However, they
are taking up considerable space (almost 40MB each) and if I don't need
them, I'd like to free up 800+ MB of space (as well as reduce the backup
time to tape).

Any ideas or thoughts?? Needless to say, my concern is that I would be
messing up one of our senior exec's setup and *that* ain't good for the
career!!.... ;-(

The Account Unknown message means they correspond to user accounts which no
longer exist. You can delete them. If you're nervous about losing data,
backup docs & settings first, and then delete them.

Brian,

Thanks. Can you expand on "backup docs and settings"?

Sure. Find your Documents and Settings folder on the server (usually under
C), and make a copy of it. Assuming you're backing the C drive up (or
wherever Documents and Settings is) to tape every night, or similiar, you
shouldn't have to worry about this step.
