Want to show in a presentation how people can navigate through a site showing
the cursor movements like these demonstrations - can it be done or must we
use flash?

bs1999bs,
In PPT 2002/2003 there is a possibility using motion paths.
If you have internet available when you demonstrate you could create a
hyperlink action button which brings you to the real thing, once the demo
finished and internet closed, PPT will return to the presentation at hand
returning to the point when you left it.

bs1999bs

you could [capture] your journey through a site with something like camtasia
from http://www.techsmith.com

Then just insert the captured movie (or flash) file into powerpoint
