Hi,

I have some tools I would like to add to my image such as:
Acrobat Reader, ICA Client, ThinPrint Client etc...

I know I can make components out of .inf files for drivers.
but is it possible to make them out of .exe setup files?

thanks,

Yaron Maor

You can indeed do this, and there are tools such as inctrl5 which can help
you with this, however, you should check the licencing for these
applications under XPe before componentising them.

Hi Linda,

thanks for the info. I run inctrk5 and got the reports. I managed to manully
select the
files and folders the report listed and added them to the component design.
but how can I import the registry data?
can I somehow convert the report data to .REG file?

thanks in advance,

YaronM

Yes, you can import reg files into component designer.
You would probably benefit from reading some of the documentation that's
around.

Hi Yaron/Heidi,

I have been using InCtrl5 utility for quite some time now and am
facing the same problem of not being able to convert the report to a
reg file.

Actually, Heidi's answer works while creating some component. But at
times I have to just merge the reg file directly into my test machine.
For this I need to have the reg file. Right now I do it the hard way.

If someone has some utility to do this, it'll be highly appreciable.

AH. I've always done it by cut and pasting an exported reg file, to be
honest.
