I currently use IE 6.0.2900.2180 SP2 . I make extensive use of Outlook
Express 6.0.

Would instaling Firefox as a browser prevent or in some way hamper my use of
Outlook Express?

If there is a compatibility issue here , is there a way of installing the
firefox so to allow continued use of Outlook Express?

Not as long as IE & OE remain the default.
If there's a problem, use Start | Set Program Access and Defaults.
