If you want to know, just go look. Your archive folders should be visible in
the Folder List. If they're not, click Tools>Options>Other>AutoArchive and
check the box labeled "Show archive folder in folder list". If that still
doesn't show them, click File>Open>Outlook Data File, browse to your Archive
PST, select it, and click OK.

Anythin you see in your main folders by definition has not been archived.
Archiving moves items to your archive PST and they no longer appear in your
default folders. Thus, if you can see it, it wasn't archived. If you answer
"no" when asked if you want to archive, Outlook will do nothing. It won't
delete messages.
