I just had this kind of an issue however for me it was not German but Chines. I know not why Chines because i'm in South Africa. I tried to change the language settings on Office tools and also on Region and Language settings in Control panel to english, but the issues remained.
I therefore did a system restore to yesterday and all is now in english.
