Can I change the font size in track-changes comments?

With Word 2007, using track changes, I would like to change the font
size in comments. Can anyone tell me whether this is possible and, if
so, how to do it?

With thanks.

Press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+S to open the Styles pane. Click the Options link at the bottom and choose to see all styles (and I find it easiest to use the alphabetical sorting).

Right-click the Comment Text style and choose Modify. Change the size and any other formatting you want. Click the "New documents based on this template" to modify the template rather than just the
current document.

For comments in balloons, you will probably also need to modify the Balloon
Text font size.

Couldn't resist trying this with Word 2000... and got some very odd results!

A sort of dividing line that wasn't, across the centre of the page
horizontally. Disappeared if I pressed ESC

I don't have Word 2000 installed anywhere at the moment to investigate, but it sounds like you showed the window splitter. The default shortcut for that is Ctrl+Alt+S. The shortcut I mentioned (with
Shift added in) wasn't assigned to anything until Word 2007.

Yes, thanks Jay (and many thanks for your personal help years ago!). I might
well have been a bit late with the 'shift' key!
