Hi

How do I get all my inbound emails in Outlook2003 (running on WinXP
Pro +all latest patches) to use my preferred font (i.e. Arial) ?

Background
I am semi-dyslexic and I find reading a sans serif font (e.g. Arial)
VERY much easier to read on a computer screen than Serif fonts (e.g.
Times Roman, Courier, Courier New etc). The problem I have is that
when email come in they seem to default to Courier New (which I
particularly hate). Without editing each email as it comes in, how can
I make the emails display in MY preferred font (i.e. Arial) ?

So far I have tried everything. There is a promising looking button in
Outlook:
Tools ==> Options ==> Mail Format ==> Stationery and Fonts ==> Fonts
==> "Always use my fonts".
The only problem is that it doesnt seem to do anything!

I also tried creating my own stationery and tried selecting "UY
Tools ==> Options ==> Mail Format ==> Stationery and Fonts ==> Fonts
==> "Use the font specified in stationery (if specified)", but this
doesnt seem to work either.

Many thanks

I am told that the default font for Outlook2003 is Sans Serif and I
was thinking of re-installing something but re-installing of what -
Outlook? MsOffice or Windows?

I am using Outlook2003 with msExchange on 3 separate PCs (2 of which
are WindowsXP, the other of which is Win7 64bit) and they ALL have the
same problem. I would say that perhaps it might be a problem with
msExchange (Windows Server 2008), but when I look at my .PST archive
files through Outlook2003 they have the exact same problem.

i.e. The default font that all HTML emails (that do not specify any
font), are viewed with is the Times New Roman font - no matter what I
do! :^[

Bl**dy Microsoft! Everyone knows that sans serif font (e.g. Arial) are
easier to read on a screen than serif font like Times New Roman.
Aaaaarrrgh. If I wasnt forced to use msOffice at work, I would have
left them many years ago. >:^[

As far as I know, all you can do is set Outlook to read all mail in plain
text format, and then specify the desired plain text font and size that you
want.

If all mail is courier new, it sounds like you are reading in plain
text. When you set your stationery to always use your fonts, did you
also change the fonts used for composing and reading messages? You
should change all 3 of the font settings to use Arial. (And do not use
the draft font option.)

The font settings won't overwrite all html fonts - it depends on how the
style is added to the html. Also, the settings may only apply to newly
downloaded mail, not mail already in outlook. (Except for the plain text
font format.)

The 'use my preferred stationery' option applies to replies, not all
mail you receive.
