Hello
I don't know if this is the right place to ask this or not, but my question
is:

How can I burn more than 2 hours on a regular 4.7 GB DVD?
Do DVDs have LP or EP systems? Is there a way to reduce the quality and
increase the length of the movie on DVDs? Are such DVDs playable on
DVD-players?

Thanks a lot

Use a DVD burning software that can compress your video (assuming you are
trying to burn a video).

Yes, I tried this, but in this case, I have to burn a Data DVD instead of
Video DVD, because Nero doesn't accept any compressed video file types. Is
there a way to burn a Video DVD with the length of more than 2 hours?

Thank you

Use DVD Decrypter to rip it and DVD Shrink to make it fit and reburn with
DVD Decrypter. Just google for the apps.

Nero recode does compress files to fit a DVD5 disc, nero vision will also
reduce the quaility to fit the disc...look in the settings of nero maybe you
have these features shut off?

I need to figure out how to get Nero to recode.

Meantime I have better luck with NeoDVD which has three quality setting
kinda like SP, LP, and SLP/EP.

This is from neoDVD FAQ:
How much video can I burn onto a disc?

Taking advantage of neoSTUDIO's quality control settings, you can create
your DVD or VCD based on the following:

Quality Settings GOOD BETTER BEST
DVD to DVD 3 HR - 21 MIN 2 HR - 19 MIN 1 HR - 17 MIN
DVD to DVD w/Dolby Digital 5 HR - 40 MIN 3 HR - 05 MIN 1 HR - 33 MIN
DVD to CD 31 MIN 22 MIN 12 MIN

*These are approximate durations. The estimated size duration is within the
limit of +VR Constrained Variable Bit Rate (CVBR), that includes a 200MB
variance.
