Can Automatic Update be turned off?

I have Windows Media Player 9. Under Tools/Options/Player/Automatic
Updates, the only choices are: "once a day" "once a week" or "once a
month."

Is there a way to "turn this off" so that it never automatically
updates? In other words, can I configure it so that I can just manually
update at my choice instead of automatically?

I apologize if this question has already been asked/answered/discussed.

Thanks!

Thanks for the link. I did check it out, but since I don't as of yet
have SP2, the file it mentions to run is not available, but at least I
will know how to change it as soon as I do get SP2. I personally plan
on just ordering the CD from MS when available, as I have dial up and
think the CD would be much less hassle than downloading the whole SP2 file.
