Can I add my own notes to a flagged follow up message?

I use Outlook 2003 with Windows XP and find the Follow Up folder very useful.
I would like to know if I can add my own info (like a note) to a particular
message. For example, I currently have a follow up that is partly completed,
but still waiting for some more information from another person. Is there any
way I can show this?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Jocelyn for your suggestion.

I have discovered there is a download called 'Outnote' which is exactly
what I am after, however because I am on a work computer we are unable to
download other applications. So in the meantime I am editing the message and
adding my notes that way, in a different color so that they stand out. The
only problem with this is that if I forward or reply to the message, I need
to remember to delete my added notes before I send it!
