Hello.

Can I customize any of the common task screens in Windows Explorer?

What I'd like to do, if possible, is add a link to the Program Files
folder in the Other Places tasks screen on the left side of the
Explorer window.

Is this possible? If so, what is the procedure? Can it be done
easily, or is it an advanced task?

If it is possible, I'd like that additional link to appear globally in
each Explorer window.

I'm using Windows XP Pro.

Thank you very much!

Hi,
No, you cannot add a shortcut in the common tasks pane.

Can you please be more specific and explain the procedure? I have
TweakUI but I see no documentation that explains how to do what I
want to do.

He misread your question. He's talking about File Open/Save As dialog.

You have to completely replace the common task pane. This can only be done on a folder by folder basis in XP.

David's right. I misunderstood what you were looking for. I was talking
about the common places bar that shows up in the save as dialog. Sorry.
