My computer has just gone RIP. I need to retrieve all the info off the hd.
The plan was to attach to hd to another computer as slave and transfer info
on to dvd so i can put it onto my laptop.
When I access the hd it wont let me open up my documents, I am assuming it
is because I have to log on to XP with password.

How can I get around this?
(I have been advised that I cant put hd in as master unless the other
computer is of an identical spec.)

Do a search on the MS site for "take ownership of files and folders".
They have specific instruction of how to do your task.
