I have recently installed XP SP2 and the camera picture
upload wizard no longer works. I have a pentax optio 550
camera and prior to installing SP2 the wizard worked fine.
Now XP no longer recognises the camera when I plug it into
the USB port.

Has anyone else encountered similar problems?

There are three things you may need to do. First, reinstall your
chipset (motherboard) drivers. This should fix your USB detection
problem. Second, try reinstalling the camera's software to take
advantage of those features. Finally, you may need to update the
software in order for it to be compatible with Service Pack 2. This can
be found on the website of the camera manufacturer or the website of the
software vendor
