Camera driver and Windows XP Pro

My problem concerns the installation of Panasonic ipalm
Software DC1.5.
I have discussed this with Panasonic, but they offer no
solution.
I have three computers, a Compaq desktop running Windows
XP Pro
Version 5.1.2600, a Compaq laptop running Windows 95, and
I recently bought a Dell
notebook also running Windows XP Pro Version 5.1.2600.

I have used the Panasonic ipaIm PV-DC3000 camera for
several years with the
Compaq laptop and Windows 95. Connection to the
computers is made via a
USB port. Initially I had some trouble getting the ipalm
software to work on the
Compaq desktop and Win XP, but was able to get a
successful installation by
go to the Program Compatibility Wizard, manually locating
the ipalm camera
program and the associated USB driver on the furnished
CD, and designating
them as compatible with Microsoft Windows 98 / Windows Me.

However, this compatibility procedure did not work on the
new Dell notebook.
Instead, upon attempting installation, I get these
messages:
"The software you are installing........has not passed
Windows Logo testing
to verify it's compatibility," and "This hardware will
not be installed. Contact your
system administrator." and "The driver cannot be
installed because it is either
now digitally signed or not signed in the appropriate
manner. Contact your
hardware dealer." Additionally, each time the computer
starts up a message
window MKEDSCEVNT1 appears, with the message "This
application cannot
be run on this operating system." I don't know which
application it refers to
but ipalm Camera Driver 1.0 is installed in the programs
directory.

As stated earlier, I have contacted Panasonic and they
maintain that their
ipalm Software DC1.5 has been proven to work with all
versions of Windows.
It is very puzzling to me that it works on the Compaq
desktop but not on the
Dell notebook when they are both running identical
versions of Windows,
i.e. XP Pro version 5.1.2600. Both computers have been
updated
recently at the Microsoft Windows Update website.

I would appreciate any solutions you can develop to my
dilemma, because
I badly need to be able to download my digital camera
into my notebook
computer when traveling.
