Does anyone who happens to own or regularly use an eMachines M5116 or similar
model laptop know if there is a spare slot for ddr sodimm pc2100/pc2700
modules underneath the keyboard?
I have spoken to a lady at Crucial Technology with regard to upgrading from
512Mb, and she seems to think there is, which came as a suprise to me, as the
manual does not mention this fact and after speaking to tech support at
pcservicecall.co.uk, neither the first guy I spoke to or his supervisor could
confirm this fact.
They did say that if I opened up to compter to swap or place a chip in this
location that it may or may not invalidate the extended warranty, + advised
that if I did perform this task to reverse it if it caused any problems.

Any advice will be gratefully received

Thanks in advance

The Emachines upgrader shows only one stick for the 512mb memory upgrade.
Usually if there are 2 slots the upgrade will state so and offer other
alternatives.

If you send an email to the tech support, they may actually give you the
answer.
